Hey there! :)

How have you guys been? I hope all is well and that you are having a wonderful time listening to some awesome records or music...one thing's for sure, I can never underestimate the power of music! Every single day it hits me in one way or another and totally changes my life in just 3 minutes...3 minutes of either happiness, joy, sadness, deliverance, repentance, self discovery, revelation, breaking out into dance, thankfulness, finding meaning, uplifting choruses...whatever it may be, I always find it to be therapeutic!

So, anyways...Living in Oregon for the past 4 weeks has been reflective and eye opening. I have met people who played music on the streets for money, young aspiring artists in school just hoping for an audience at the sidewalk, some bands playing for nothing more than recognition in our hallways, random inspirations to me. Each of them filled with passion and enthusiasm for exploring this magical art of making music with not just the instruments but your heart. Nothing beats that feeling you get that exudes from the artist, the glimmer in their eye as they sing or play. As a person paints on a canvas...that feeling is simply what keeps us going at times.

Two days ago, while I was at the Craft Center making some ceramic bowls with the pottery wheel (I do this for fun...) :) its great btw! And a man around his 40s sat next to me pulling and making his own clay creations...it wasn't a busy day and therefore only two of us sat there spinning our separate wheels. We got talking, about life and his job and how was life in Eugene - He studied in UofO about 25 years ago...

Then he pulled out a mixed CD and asked me if I mind if he plays it on the stereo, of course...being a music enthusiast gladly agreed to his request. The first song that started playing really grabbed me by the hairs of my skin. As soon as it played I knew this guy had Taste! XD (The Shins, Radiohead, Colin Hay, etc...) he had it.

I feel in love with the first one. Awesome song, amazing lyrics...it blended so well with what we were doing and completely gave me peace in that art workshop with glass windows - light beaming in, beautiful creations all around, music from blown speakers...(totally euphoric) :) I sat there admired his work...and tried to learn a thing or two from a pro! He was a delight in so many ways...The music became a topic, friendship was created in the process of creating a plate or a bowl.
I was so touched by his friendly and willingness to help..
It is times like these that you are grateful for meeting someone new in your life, even if it was only for 3 hours! -music does bring ppl together-

I moved btw...I have already said this a couple of time but people don't get it. (PPL have been acquiring this for a long time)

Hey there!!

I'm finally back here to blog about more music! "YAY!" - I'm was so enthusiastic that I finally got the chance to travel to Eugene and test the grounds here for more indie music and underground bands. But...to my disappointment I haven't listened to anything new and profound lately. I can't download anything here! Seriously...Feels like I'm handicapped or something without bitcomet etc...

Cause most of my music is either bought (they don't have any record stores nearby the campus I would have to go to the mall) So i don't buy any here...and it is illegal to dl anything off the net! I already received two warnings from security about my dling...haha. before i didn't know it was totally illegal and we were monitored! Especially since I live on campus...tighter lock down on music dls or even tv shows etc... (really gotta find something else to do. XD) I miss my old crappy slow streamyx now. At least I could dl new music for free without buying or spending 100 dollars a week on albums.

So, I'm just gotta let you guys in on a "older" bands...whom I have being digging the pass two weeks. They are...
Broken Records (first vid) and Frightened Rabbit (second vid)

Awesome band, this song is called "Ukulele Song" - great location and even better collaboration as well as ensemble. I know very country/hippie-ish but i love it!

because I'll be reviewing and writing about ONLY music!! from now onwards...
so...let me start with my first post with a fantastic video!

This is a very interesting, mind blowing and creative way of performing on stage!
The Killers were amazing at the EMA 2008 Awards, with their hit single, "Human"

The graphics and boxes being holographic ally designed to look like they were moving and morphing into different positions and distances. It was most probably the best band performance from The Killers. Innovative and reminded me of the 80s with their brand of euro-pop.

Hey amigos...

How is life?? well, for me..its been amazingly good. I've been really enjoying myself these past few days - going to Rome was breath taking and I got to relive my childhood flames and dreams as well as experience Italian high-fashion and architecture at this age. Because before this I could never really truly appreciate the structures and artwork to its fullest and couldn’t understand its greatest capability to capture your heart. Now I really dub Rome one of my favorite destinations including New York and London.

Anyways, I’ll be posting pictures up soon of Rome…but for now. I would like to unexpectedly announce my shift to blogspot.

Yes, I’m indeed moving – packing up and leaving for good. Hmmm, technically I’ll be keeping my xanga for other purposes…(extra blog)

But, due to complications and the lack of cooperation from Xanga I’ve decided to do what the Romans do and blog using the “acclaimed” and so called trustworthy blogspot for a change.

I’ve been using xanga for 2 years and it’s been ever dependable and faithful to me. Being my digital journal for these two years has been an experience, bad and good.

Now, my new address is:

Doggy business...

Who let the dogs out??

Just a few days ago, a group of us had a little game of “Cranium”…two teams, with one stake. One forfeit if the team lost the game.

I don’t know which twisted mind came up with the idea of having the losing team Eat Dog food!! How seriously random is that?! Anyways, cutting out all the debate about whether to eat just one, two or a spoon full – individually, or with water.

The deal was, each person had to eat one pellet (belonging to my dogs chow) and bite into it without any water! And to swallow it down completely.

Sounds disgusting right?! Yeah…it was our motivation to kick some butt and win to forgo the horrible punishment for losing. I have not tasted dog food before, and didn’t plan to experience that anytime soon. So, we grabbed a cupful of dog pellets and brought it to show everyone what the stake was. Ahhh, once everyone got a whiff of that “wonderful” aroma, it was Game on! Nobody wanted to taste the food that made that ghastly smell.

After an intense game of “Cranium” – my team won!!

It was a well played game, very challenging and entertaining. Especially the charades part of the game.., hilarious.

Sooo…we losing team had to keep to their bet and eat the dog food! (hardcore wei)

I didn’t really think anyone would do so…inside I was thinking, “nah, they wouldn’t go through it!”

Ahah, but what’s the fun if they didn’t?? XD

I have decided to sell off a couple of my things (accessories, books, stickers, belts, handbags, notebooks etc…) random stuff and clothing. I have been rummaging through my cupboards; looking around my room and Guess What! I have sourced out quite a good selection of t-shirts and tops as well as jeans and knick knacks awaiting you and friends.

Focus lost?

Physics tells us that everything on this planet will fail us eventually. Trust someone, fall in love: your scars will tell the same story. Entropy, pain, beauty, love, hope... mix them together and call it living or life.

The choice that remains is where we go to find meaning and truth. The biggest failures and disappointments in my life have led me to look beyond what money or power or friends can buy. When you're face down at the very bottom of who you are, and there is no formality or pretense to cling to, all your masks fall off…our facade fades into the background.

In this broken place, our lives can be seen for what they are, no more no less; we are ourselves.

The question is this: What happens after the twin towers in our lives fall? Do we become bitter, hateful and full of resentment or does redemption come into focus? I've been on both sides...only one is beautiful.

I am struggling to find that release and deliverance from these things that grip hold of me and slowly pull me down. I want to find that beauty in the chaos that is living.

I CAN'T lose FOCUS!

Btw, I just had to say this....

I love CRANIUM!! no..not our brain, but the board game! Its a mix of pictionary, charades, general knowledge quizzes and word puzzles.
seriously, one of the most competitive, fun, nerve wrecking, mind boggling, exciting games I've ever played!
I do need to get one for myself in US...a solution to my "bored" moments. too bad they don't have em in KL.
seeing people do stupid stunts and gestures, or pulling their hair out to guess an answer is pretty amusing...even if that person could be me. XD

Being a little nostalgic: This was taken during my first month at HELP...*how time flies*
